The Silent Rank
From a Miltary wife, to an Honored Service Member, Thank you for all you do for our country. - Mrs. PFC J. Baker USA Hooah!

Military Spouse Day

"If the military had wanted you to have a spouse, they would have issued you one."
Remember hearing those words?

Our military has realized the significance of the military spouse. In 1984 President Reagan proclaimed the Friday before Mother's Day of each year to be Military Spouse Appreciation Day. These are the silent heroes. They serve beside those in uniform, they relocate when the government says and they take on all the responsibilities when their spouse is deployed. They understand long hours, military exercises, deployments and often low income.

Could you handle what they do daily?
1. They have stood and watched as their spouse has disappeared on orders, not sure when they might return.
2. They have held the families together, celebrated birthdays and anniversaries alone. Their Thanksgivings and Christmases become indescribable as they celebrate upon their loved one's return, sometimes months past the actual holiday.
3. they show strength as their spouse goes into danger and they face challenges alone.
4. They display pride while waving the flag, and keep candles lit at home until their loved one returns to them.
5. They have sacrificed many things to make sure everything goes smoothly with the family life so the spouse can remain focused where he or she may be.
6. A military spouse always has concerns while apart and it sometimes turns into a struggle not to be overwhelmed with this lifestyle.

Military spouse stand tall, stand proud … we salute you!

A MILITARY WIFE
The backbone of the home you see.
That's what the military wife is to me.
Guarding the fort while her husband's away,
Defending and protecting his country each day.
Though many forget the importance of her role in his life,
Please, Sir, don't forget the military wife.
The woman who primarily raises her children alone,
The one who strives to make a "house", a home.
The one who sacrifices the time she could share,
The one who has many responsibilities to bear.
The woman who is married to a protector of the world,
The one whose life stays fairly unfurled.
I say again, kind Sir, don't forget the role she plays in his life.
Yes, dear Sir, the military wife.
The woman who stands by her husband's side,
The one who takes life stride by stride.
The woman who wonders when he's far away,
The one who prays for his safety
and sends tender love his way.
Next time you look into a soldier's eyes,
Think of the one who stands by his side.
The one left behind, the encouragement in his life.....
The woman who's called the MILITARY WIFE.
