How To Crochet A Skull Cap

WORSTED WEIGHT YARN – RED HEART ONLY – FOUND AT WALMART

SIZE G OR H HOOK (Depends on how tight you crochet)

PLEASE USE DARK SAGE, MEDIUM SAGE, GREY, DARK BROWN, MEDIUM BROWN OR CAMOFLAGUE. NO OTHER COLORS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

(You can get 2-3 caps from one skein, depending on how tight you crochet)

CH 4; SL ST TO FORM CIRCLE, CH 3

ROUND 1: 12 DC IN CIRCLE; SL ST TO TOP OF CHAIN 3; CHAIN 3

ROUND 2: 2 DC IN EACH ST; SL TO TOP OF CHAIN 3; CHAIN 3

ROUND 3: *2 DC IN 1ST ST, 1 DC IN NEXT ST (REPEAT FROM * AROUND); SL ST TO TOP OF CHAIN 3; CHAIN 3

ROUND 4: REPEAT ROUND 3

ROUND 5: *2 DC IN 1ST ST; 1 DC IN NEXT 6 ST; (REPEAT ARROUND UNTIL LAST 4 ST); DC IN LAST 4 ST; SL ST TO TOP OF CHAIN 3; CHAIN 3

ROUND 6-11: 1 DC IN EACH ST; SL ST TO TOP OF CHAIN 3; CHAIN 3

(TO MAKE BAND)

ROUND 12: * DC IN FRONT POST OF 1ST ST; DC IN BACK POST OF 2ND ST: (REPEAT AROUND TO FORM RIBBING); SL ST TO TOP OF CHAIN 3; FASTEN OFF. WEAVE IN ENDS.

NOTES: You can adapt this to knitting, however the band is crocheted.

The cap cannot be longer than 6 inches from center of skull down to forehead. When completed, fold the cap in half; it should measure approximately 10 inches across.
