Receive Care Packages
Guidelines
Special Kindness In Packages only accepts mailing addresses of currently deployed US service members. We do not ship care packages to coalition forces or civilian contractors regardless of their location. We will ship larger care packages to support small groups (i.e. squads or fireteams) of US military units, but we cannot support entire units.
Care packages may be envelopes of letters from home, flat-rate boxes, or Priority Mail. We cannot guarantee delivery of special requested items, nor can we guarantee shipment times.
Additionally, we take OPSEC very seriously and therefore we do not give out military addresses. Therefore, please do not ask for them. We have to say no.
...please read our terms and conditions and Privacy Policy before submitting a military member.
Terms and Conditions
Special Kindness in Packages, Inc. ("SKIP") was established to provide care packages and correspondences to individuals serving in the United States Armed Forces (including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve, National Guard, Air National Guard, Army National Guard, and Merchant Marines). We will not ship to anyone else.
There is no fee for our service members to receive care packages, however please keep in mind that without money we can't send anything. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
Banned Items :
We do not intend to ship alcohol, pornography, food containing pork, weapons, explosives, or anything else our military members should not receive in any care package. If a care package is received that contains borderline material please let us know immediately by Email: nancy@specialkindness.org
Shipment Times:
We would like to ship care packages on a monthly basis; however, without funds we cannot do that. Financial donations are needed right now. Please Click Here to make a financial donation. Once we sort and assemble the care packages, complete the address labels, affix the necessary postage, and deliver the packages to a U.S. Post Office branch, the packages will be forwarded to ports, such as New York and California. They will then leave the US and be distributed to the military addresses of the military men and women as quickly as possible.
The Last Shipment:
We realize that when a military member finds out their exact redeployment date we are probably last on the list of priorities of who to tell. But, please keep us on that list. Every time we ship a care package and it gets returned because the military member has returned home we lose money that we could have used to ship a care package to another person.
On the form there is an entry for the military member's expected return date. To prevent several returned care packages we use that date as the cut-off. We usually attempt to send one final care package about a month before. If a service member is extended or redeploys early we would appreciate an Email letting us know as soon as possible: nancy@specialkindness.org
One Last Thing:
We have tried in the past to honor special requests for items to include in care packages, and a few times it's actually worked, but 100% of what we ship is donated to the organization and rarely do we have an opportunity to choose what's donated. We would love to get a donation of 1,000 iPods or video games that we can send, but it hasn't happened yet. If you want to make a special request please do, but also understand that we may not have it to include... and we definitely can't afford 1,000 new iPods.
